Digital Payment Testing
Today’s digital revolution includes digital payments for many organizations, if not all of them. Those that aren’t using digital payments right now will soon. But, what are digital payments? And what about doing digital payment testing?
Why The Need For Digital Payment Testing?
Digital payments influence the relationship between organizations and their customer base. Through convergence of cash, check, credit and cards to a single digital transaction to pay for premium goods and services or fulfill contractual obligations, the level of trust that a customer gives the organizations’ payment system must be established to enable transactions with peace of mind. As such, customers need to feel secure in the methods that are used to handle the payment interactions. This marks the line between trustworthiness or lack thereof. As organizations move forward globally in using the digital marketplace, the need for testing becomes ever more critical. QA is essential in providing this security through robust testing. Software Testing takes place at each stage of the life-cycle of the system and has a direct influence on an organization’s success.
The Digital Economy
The economy today uses systems like peer to peer lending of money, buying of services, products, banking and more. In order to use this feature, organizations have to be tested in regards to Internet connections, speed, safety, and reliability. Asking the customer to submit their payment instrument over a WIFI connection, whether public or private, the organization must take every precaution to ensure the safety of such personal information.
Mobile security and third party payment management systems have robust security features. But what about the connection from these systems to the organization? Testing plays a major role in testing these features thoroughly and securely. It is of extreme importance that the customer’s data is not leaked or exposed to a data breach. User data can not be compromised when using payment instruments in the digital world.
As organizations grow and new technologies emerge, it becomes apparent that these systems will allow customers more opportunities to use their credit cards, for example, over the Internet. Upon doing so, testers must stay ahead of the curve to ensure testing on these payment systems. Hand in hand, organizations and the testing team must unite to ensure success.
As the digital footprint becomes more and more important in the customers’ lives, digital payment testing must be robust enough to withstand the pressures of issues, private information, changing infrastructure and even third party payment systems. Customers rely more on mobile technology to make their payments faster and more efficiently than by any other vehicle. To ensure that digital payments are integrated properly with the systems, this payment software testing effort becomes a necessity as well as being more robust than before. In conclusion, the need for digital payment testing is not going to disappear. In fact, it will do the opposite. It will become more and more of an important need that it can’t be overlooked.
